Deacon Bob was a Methodist minister and he and his wife Jane were missionaries in Ghana from 1961. On returning to England in 1973, Bob became a Catholic and was received into the church that year, Jane the following year. He was ordained deacon in the Southwark diocese at St Matthew’s, West Norwood, by Bishop Henderson in 1982. From 1975 to 1998 he was secretary of the Bishops’ Conference Committee for International Justice and Peace. Bob and Jane moved to St Agatha’s Parish in 2003. Sadly Jane passed away in 2012. Bob is still a much-loved member of our parish and serves at eight Masses a week— one a day and two on Sundays — reading the Gospel and helping distribute Holy Communion.

Rev Patrick Rorke S.J. Born in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, England on 29th October 1904. “Pat” Rorke was ordained as a Jesuit priest in 1935. Died at the age of 86, 2nd September 1990.
