Our Call to Stewardship
Father Francis is inviting us to participate in “Our Call to Stewardship".
Our Parish Church was established in 1894, and our Parish School was founded a year later. For over 130 years St Agatha's has been at the centre of our Parish Community and this "Call to Stewardship" is to ensure the continued success of St Agatha's and our Parish for the next 130 years.
How Can YOU Help Our Parish to Continue to Flourish?
This is an invitation to all Parishioners to reflect and renew their commitment of Time, Talents, and Treasure to the Parish. Our Parish does not, and could not, function without the continued generosity of our parishioners giving their precious time and talents voluntarily and sharing their financial blessings. We are all "Stewards" of our Parish, and we are each responsible for its upkeep, and safeguarding its future. We do hope many of you will respond to this invitation and participate as best as you can.
Why are we introducing “Our Call to Stewardship”?
The parish does NOT receive any funding, whatsoever, from the Government, the Diocese or the Vatican.
Our Parish is fully and solely dependent upon our "Parish Volunteers" and has one source of income – The Ordinary Offertory Collection.
We have reached a point where our Parish Expenditure is far greater than our Parish Income – overheads such as heating, lighting and water, as you know yourselves within your own homes, has become very expensive.
Additionally, there is the cost of ongoing general maintenance and the daily care of this beautiful 130-year-old building.
What Happens Next?
"Week 1", is an introduction to “Our Call to Stewardship"
"Week 2", we will share with you in more detail our current Parish Finances and our plans for the essential maintenance and upkeep of our beautiful church. We will also explain the most effective way of "Offertory Giving" such as "Gift Aid" and donating by "Standing Order".
"Week 3”, there will be an opportunity for you to renew and pledge your commitments to our Parish in the form of Time, Talents, and Treasure.
This pledge will allow our Parish to plan ahead for our future, in confidence.
